My name is James and I am a volunteer rural firefighter New Zealand. I have been with my brigade for just under 14 months now and am the tenth male member of my family to join the service.
My family's involvement in firefighting goes all the way back to the early 1900's, starting with my great-uncle, Charles W.N. Ingram, a career firefighter in Dunedin. Long service is also a part of my family's tradition in the service - between five and fifty years at the most. Here's hoping I can get a few years on them!
Can't wait to get stuck into the forum and meet some fellow firefighters.
