Dispatch "Multiple calls ref structure fire (then gives the address)" A few minutes later officer of 1st in engine "Central Engine # on the scene be advise we have a funeral home OH S##T IT'S BURNING!!!! TURN RIGHT HERE TURN RIGHT HERE. OH S##T"
On another fire a Chief said " The hydrant is right there Y'all are f###king it up!"

A Fireman to be successful, must enter buildings; He must get in below, above, on every side, from opposite houses, over brick walls, over side walls, through panels of doors, through windows, through loopholes cut by himself in the gates, the walls, the roof; he must know how to reach the attic from the basement by ladders placed on half burned stairs, and the basement from the attic by rope made fast on a chimney;
His whole success depends on his getting in and remaining there, and he must always carry his appliances with him, as without them he is of no use.
Composed by Sir Eyre Massey Shaw (1830–1908) who was the Superintendent of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (now renamed the London Fire Brigade), and its predecessor, the London Fire Engine Establishment, from 1861 to 1891. He introduced modern firefighting methods to the Brigade, and increased the number of stations.

i remember this one when my junior firefighters were talking with emt explorers, basically the guys were trying to decide who was doing the most good. I guess it was a masculine thing becasue me and the other girls were just laughing at how stupid they sounded. Anyway one of the guys said this... i think its a myspace comment now lol
