Has anyone been checking fire scenes for Hydrogen Cyanide?
We have been testing LEL, CO, H2S & O2 levels for years. We have gotten a new gas meter that will allow us to check for HCN as well. I am looking for others that may be checking for HCN for their thoughts on training and SOP/SOG's. These meters are used by fire crews and not just Hazmat members.
Thanks a bunch,

I have been trying to get this at my department for over a year now. There are single gas HCN detectors that are relatively cheap too. I agree, this is a very overlooked gas that is very prevalant at fires that we need to protect ourselves from.
