Everyone has an opinion and not all advise is wanted or even accurate sometimes... Everyone...

But, sometimes, advice is needed and asked for by others. What triggers you to actually type in a reply here on the FFN?

What makes a successful FFN post?

No argument here Jack. Tradition is a good thing.

2) Generalizations
3) Thin skin
4) Ad nauseum repetitive questions
5) Sales pitches advertising panaceas
6) Anything CBz posts
7) Anything Kalie posts
8) Flame war initiation
9) Any mention of religion
10) Any mention of politics
11) Did I mention "Controversy"

Looks like Ben has the basics handled. Good question CBz.
Ben,
You forgot to include:
'So, I have this personal problem with my...'
Women in the...
The color of ANYTHING!
Firefighter underwear (and their salesmen)
Did you mention controversy?
To me, the playful discussions and disagreements on here that are still handled with a degree of professionalism are the best to learn from. When someone asks a question or makes a statement and a big discussion ensues, sometimes with a disagreement, I feel a lot of information is passed back and forth and if you are smart enough you pick up on it and you learn from it.

Getting to see the different styles of all the departments from all over the world is another plus for a good FFN Post, something that allows firefighters from all over to share their techniques and strategies is always educational.

But overall, I simply enjoy the discussions and the few people i made aquaintence with since joining, and the information they share on a adaily basis, thats what makes FFN and any post on it a good thing.

Stay Safe everyone.

Depends on how one interprets successful. If it gets a response, it might be argued that it was a success.
Cap CbZy

I really don't know to be honest. Some have put in a lot of time and effort on a subject matter, a subject that has direct impact on the job, they create a post and it gets no attention.

Others throw out the word game or color of your helmet and you would have thought the OP had invented the SCBA with the response.

FETC
Ehhh.

IMHO a successful post is one that makes you think. Even if the post is wrong, if it made you think then it was successful.
Too right. Don't forget reiki and orbs - those are fire service essentials.
