Grant it, Santa Barbara has had three major wildfires including the Gap Fire, Tea Fire and now the Jesusita Fire. All three fires included visits from our Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The good news is that he is very pro fire department and police department and always finds a way to make sure we get the resources necessary to control the fires that our front country is known for. It's kind of cool to see a movie star devote his time and efforts to help your efforts when they are needed.
Does your governors in your states or territories show this kind of support that creates a media frenzy?
Or is is just California?

Arnold takes a moment to talk to the troops.
Arnold is orientated by the CalFire Team leader and county fire chiefs using the incident map displayed and used at the daily briefings.
Once state funds were approved and a management team was put into place, more resources such as the DC-10 were made available to assist with suppressing the fires.
