Hello Everyone,

My name Is Todd Colitti, I am a Lieutenant with the Waterbury, Ct. Fire Department. I have been a member of the department for 23 years, currently at Truck 3.

I am about to embark on a cross country bicycle trip with a friend. We are riding to raise AWARENESS and funds for Crohn's, colitis, colorectal cancer, and ostomies. I am a 10 year Stage IV colon cancer survivor, my co-rider has been battling Crohn's disease for 10 years.

As we finalize our route in the next few weeks I wanted to try and have an emergency contact in everytown we stay in without support, so if we have any problems we will have someone familiar with the area to help. I thought that my brother and sister firefighters across this counrty would be our best chance for this. We hopefully will not need any emergency help, but we may occationally need a place to set up our tents. And it would be great to meet some new people along the way.

When the route is layed out I will post for all see, to come join us, and maybe even cheer us on as you see us on the road. We will be following Adventure Cyclings' Southern Tier Route, with a detour to New Orleans for Digestive Disease week, this route will keep us far enough south to stay warm for our ride times.

You can learn more about our trip that sarts in March 2010, in the following ways; 1) Facebook - you can become a fan of our page - we are "The Cycling Semicolons"  2) Our website is www.wegotguts.com  3) Our twitter feed is www.Twitter.com/wegotguts  Please stop by check us out and friend us on Facebook and I will look forward to meeting some of you along the way!

 Thank You all in advance,

Todd M. Colitti Sr.

Todd, good luck on your journey across this country, I would love to help you out but I think your route is gonna take you around IL and not through it, however if things change with your route then send me a message on here and I will give you my contact info

Again, good luck with your ride

Joe Workman, Spring Valley Fire Dept.
What you are doing is incredibly cool Todd. My sister is dying from Crones disease so your effort directly affects me personally. I wanted to thank you for this.

Some of my guys did a recent run in support of one of our firefighters who has cancer and has been undergoing therapy. I invite you and anyone else reading this link to check out a video that was put together to document a close to 100-mile run that was not necessarily meant to create awareness but more so to show support for our brother.

I am so proud of my guys for accomplishing their goals of supporting my friend and firefighter Tyler. What an honor to know and to have worked with individuals like these. It's people like you and the firefighters in the linked video that make the world a better place.

God bless,
CBz
