ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Authorities in St. Petersburg are conducting criminal investigations into the city's firefighters after cocaine was found in a washing machine at a station.

The St. Petersburg Police Department launched the investigations Thursday. Narcotics detectives are investigating possible arrests and criminal charges, and the police's internal affairs unit began a separate probe to determine if fire department and city policies were broken.

The cocaine powder was found Sept. 18 in a small plastic bag at the fire station. Authorities say several firefighters were doing laundry at the time.

The station will continue to operate during the investigation. Officials have not released any other details.

Wow, must be tough being a white shirt in the past two weeks for this department.
I don't think they are addicted or anything...they probably just like the way it smells.
dumb asses
ya but that crap that is so easy to make is the stuff that will you!! at least thats what my dope head buddys told me they say if it dont come from somone thats straight they dont want it (dont ask me why they told me this)
It was just OXYCLEAN!
oh they just didnt take it out of the bag huh
Yea Chief they told me it was Oxyclean. WOW! Bummer. An I was hoping for a good clean wash too.
ok im lost was it accually oxyclean if it was dang that was blown way out of proportion
Not only is that a black eye for the dept., but a safety hazard as well. Cocaine, even compared to other drugs, is NOT something you want in your system when you're running a fire call or some other very strenuous activity. Not that you should be doing any drugs, just sayin....
well heck it could happen i take my oxyclean and my laundry detergent with me in a plastic baggy lol it sucks when i get em mixed up can you say nose bleed
