One of our Brazilian brothers pointed out to me that Brazil is experiencing extreme flooding and mudslides.

Tens of thousands of people are homeless / displaced... more than 700 people are being reported dead as of last count today.... with more than 1000 missing...

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those that have lost their families in this disaster and pray that a calm will come in the storm soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our brothers and sisters at this time as they are rescuing in such dangerous conditions in their own communities.

Much of the flooding is near Rio de Janeiro... and here is a map from last week of flood areas marked... of course now it is worse...

Sorry I don't speak the languages of Brazil - so I was not able to pull down news more local to the region being affected. Hopefully this reflects at least what they are experiencing even from afar.

Hopefully, the FFN webmster can find more detailed information to post on the state of Brazil.

Brazil got a entire month of rain in 24 hours... and more rain is expected...

Rescuers are digging with their hands for missing buried people.
In Rio, the poor live in slums in the hills (called Favelas) around the city. These are very poorly built, crowded and beyond the reach of most government services. In Sao Paulo they are around the river bed. These areas are incredibly vulnerable to floods and mudslides. I'm surprised the death toll is as low as it is.
