Bad Radio Transmission, Missing Tones and Missing Calls because of it?!?!? Please help.!
Hi My Name is Ryan. I carry a Motorola Radius GP300 2-Way Radio that has 16 channels on VHF. I Live Right under a big hill and that blocks my radio transmission, or the transmission goes right over my radio, so I am always missing calls because I am not getting toned out. On some days I recieve calls but 90% of the time I don't. What can I do to recive calls without moving my location?

Hi Ryan, If I was in your shoes, and as young as you are, then I would make it my point to learn a lot about radios and antennas. You can do this with very patient guys to guide you through the basics to the more complicated concepts using HAM radio operators or what we have in our area is called ARES, or Amateur Radio Emergency Services. This will minimize the learning curve for you and give you direction toward solving your problem. Remember, it's not the amount of amps your radio puts out but the quality of your antennae. You would be amazed how efficient your radio can work with a good antennae. Good luck.

i do all the programing on my dept, and it could something as simple as the pl tone might be wrong or the the radio its self could be junk, are outher guys in your dept haveing problems? but since you are a expoler you might have been issued a older radio thats not set in sync with dispatch. its hard telling without reading your radio and knowing the system that your dispatch is useing.
