Does anyones departments have boron capable tools? Can you get by without the boron capable tools, when cutting up a car? I understand alot of newer vehicles are using boron in there post and in the dash, but could you possibly cut around the boron with your older jaws unit and still be able to extricate the patient?

Yes, the newer tools can cut Boron steel...and yes the older tools still work....Go for the hinges instead of the Nader pin...they are usually made out of cast and cut easily then open the door suicide style...or instead of just taking the door...take the entire side out Just be careful around the posts...many newer cars have side curtain airbags that you don't want to mess with the electrical lines to these.
Cut is not neccesarily the right word its more like break or shatter. If you look at the new Ford Super Duties almost the entire passenger compartment frame is made of boron steel
We have Moron capable tools, although I try not to use them much!

On a serious note, yes our cutters are capable of cutting the newer boron components during vehicle extriccation.
as I said go for the hinges
Ralph there you go causing crap again....Mech of injury might make you go for a door...use brain before brawn
Try before you pry.
