I will be applying to Pike Township Fire Dept. this coming Monday. As the title says, this is the 1st time I will be applying to a career dept. Any suggestions, tips, ideas will all be greatly appreciated.

I've tested for quite a few now. Expect not to get the job! Don't let it keep you down If you don't get it! apply for as many as it takes to get your dreem job brother!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!! Let us know if you get it!
lol.... Thanks John... I will keep everyone updated on this thread
it's a hell of a job and i'm a firefighter and i love it!!!!! just do what they tell u to do and u will be fineand u will see it's not a job at all
and when u do it!! it get in your blood and u will love it
Absolutely don't expect to get it the first time out, but try to be positive. I agree apply to as many as you can and use each one as a buliding block: you may only get through the written one time, then to the physical the next, etc. It may only take one or several to get through an entire process and get on the job. Also, don't test in one area. I have tested from the East to West to the South. The more experience the better and be willing to re-locate if this is what you want.
