Is it commonplace to use an ATV instead of a vehicle to drive between two incidents, and on the highway? It sure does not appear to be a good judgement call on the part of the firefighter. I wonder if the safety officer addressed ATV usage at the briefing? Something warning everyone that off road ATV's were being used on the incident, and on public roads.

He was using his own atv because the fire was down theroad from hishouse and the rest of pur FD hadnt gotten on scene yet..when the incident happened

When your dealing with a two forest fires and all county And surrounding county officials ( firedept. tx forest service. Us forest service. Sherriff. Emt. Game wardons. County water district.. Texas department of pujd
blic services.. So much radio traffic you cant get a word in edgwise... Then yea i dont see anything wrong with using a fourwheeler.. Exspecially when the forest servicemen use utvs and when the forest service takes over and vecomes ic. Then the fire fighters wait and baby sit make sure t he fires dont jump the lines or roads.. Haveyou ever dealt with a forest fire mike? During a four year drought?
