I am taking this poll to see if other people besides me and a fellow brother in my dept. listen to hard core or metal music. So let's hear it, and if not what type of music makes you feel ALIVE inside when you listen to it.
Metal: mettallica, Rob zombie, Ramstien Marylin Mason, etc
Alternative rock: Evenescence, Audioslave, Nightwish etc
Classic rock: Zepplin, AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith etc
Blues: Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vough etc
Lite rock: Chris Daughtry, Phil Collins, Beatles etc
Classical: mostly movie soundtracks from movies such as Lord of the Rings, Star wars, etc
Rap: Eminem, D12, Ja Rule, Snoop Dogg etc (I Hate gangsta rap though)
Some World stuff like Lorena McKennet is ok too. My wife and I even listen to old stuff like Frank Sinatra era stuff too.
Oh and of course, Hair band stuff!!!! G n'R, Nightranger, Ratt, whitesnake, twisted sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty much the only thing I dont listen to is opera, Gangsta rap, and. . . . .well I think thats the only stuff we don't listen too. My wife used to be the manager at a music store so we collect music and movies and we have quite a large collection
I grew up With the 80's groups and still listen to them. But some of the more moder groups that get the blood flowing are Killswitch Engage ,All that remains, Shadowsfall, Sevendust and can't forget my favorite Black Label Society
I do have to say that since hitting about 29 years of age I have become a HUGE fan of Downtempo music. Groups like Zero7, Morcheeba, Air, etc... Some of the songs are so mellow and calming and then some are so damn arousing...talk about mood music!!!!! Hell I even named my daughter Destiny after a Zero7 song I heard one day and fell in LOVE with it. I must suggest anyone getting the chance go download it and listen. Try expanding your musical horizons more and more all the time.
It's nice to see so many different views on music here. I will listen to everything however only tolerate a small handful of country artists and rappers.
Have to admit though that my fave for a very long time has to be the Dave Matthews Band.
Aerosmith were OK, especially some of their later songs.
I have always liked a bit of KISS but recently they played a concert here while at the Formula 1 Grand Prix and I was Safety Officer for it, and I gotta say, I loathed the concert. I thought they were really lame playing live....
