Don't know the details, as I've only just been sent this info. It's from another State, but thought it might be of interest...

Man falls from bridge – Dubbo
Friday, 25 Apr 2008 05:32am
A man has been taken to hospital after he fell from a bridge yesterday afternoon.
About 4:25pm, a 43-year-old Dubbo man was seen walking along the railway bridge which spans Bligh Street and the Macquarie River, Dubbo.
Officers from Orana Local Area Command were contacted by relatives of the man.
Police attended the scene and located the man walking between the steel structure of the bridge before he was seen to loose his footing and slip, however, he was able to hold onto the inner railings.
Police and NSW Fire Brigade officers attempted to rescue the man but he lost his grip and fell from the bridge before they could reach him.
As a result of the fall, the man landed on the windscreen of a fire truck before falling to the road.
He was taken by ambulance to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment of head and chest injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
The fire truck received minor damage to the windscreen as a result of the incident.
That'd really, really stuff your day up- both the jumper and the firefighters. Crap of a way to end a call...
This is from New South Wales, Austrailia. I think we learned that while we don't park our apparatus in the collapse zone of a building for obvious reasons, we also don't park them UNDER a jumper!!! Tough way to learn that lesson!
If only they'd activated the windshield wipers! (Sorry, I have a sick sense of humor sometimes). At least the guy is OK and can get help now, better than smashing into the ground. Stay safe!
