ok what colors of helmets does your dept use and what do they mean?????? My dept uses White,Red,Black,Yellow,Blue,and Orange. White= Chief Red= Captain Black= Lt Yellow= firefighter Blue= Safty Orange= Rookie
Our department uses white for line officers, black for senior firefighters, yellow for juniors, and red also for senior members. The red helmets are firefighters personal helmets. They are allowed but are recommened they wear black.
I just thought of a good answer to this question! Helmet colour - if you can see the colour, then the helmet is being kept clean! Which is what we should all do...
White- chief, dep. chief, asst. chief
black- captains
red- LT's
green- photographer
yellow- ff's
yellow- probies (modern style helmets until off probation then issued a 1044)
We do not have a designated safety officer so no specific helmet color for that position. It is the color of the issued helmet of who ever is assigned that position for that incident. It usually ends up being the asst. chief most often.
Chief & Asst. Chief = White
Captain = Red
Driver/Operator = Yellow
Firefighter = Black
Those are our colors, though most of our guys wear yellow helmets because they are driver/operator certified. mostly our volunteers and new hires are black helmets.
Chiefs are white, everyone else is black. Officers have white shields, firefighters have black shields, probies have orange shields (orange reflective stickers also)
Well here in stafford, va we use White, Black, Red, Blue, and are kinda pulling away from yellow.
White=All officers from Lt. and above
Black=Firefighter
Red=Probie
Blue=EMS
Yellow used to mean that you were only ff1, and black ment ff1+2
Orange - Trainee
Yellow with Red stripe - Probationary FF
Yellow - Firefighter
Blue - Lieutenant
Red - Captain
White - Chief
Black - Ambo Tech (EMT with no fire training)
