Ok people, i am back to stir the so called pot or kettle if you will. If you remember my last discussion it was about the whole Taxing of the insurance companies and stuff like that. I got such a great response out of everybody on this thing, THANKS.

Now there is a saying, opinions are like A**holes everybodies got one and some of them stink lol. Anywho I would like to start up another discussion on a nice little topic that comes up in the firehouse sometimes. Its about seperate quarters for the "Oposite Sex" Sorry for the spelling Sir webster is not beside me right now. Any way What I mean by this and i will give an example, Say you have an all male firehouse and you get this really good female firefighter straight out of the academy and they move her into ur house. Do you think the house should make changes? Changes being locks on the bathroom doors, patitioning of the bunk room Yada Yada Yada. Now myself I think it is GREAT that females are gettin into this service. but I wanna now what you people think, LET ME KNOW SUMTHIN.

Thank you Dan. I have had my trials during the years but just like any trial it eventually ends. I am not always a fan of having special things for the females on the job because i am not 100% for the whole "separate yet equal" thing. Things happen between people and God knows some guys think if I pass them the Ketchup it means I want them but I feel it has a lot to do with how you conduct yourself as a woman on this job. Guess what? If you act flirty some view it as an open invitation when that is struck down now the "sexual harrassment" bomb is dropped. I know alot of women want to conduct themselves in this manner to remind the guys to look at them beyond the bunker gear and the helmet but that is what Union functions, retirement parties and off duty functions are for. Get your groove on there not in the fire house. It makes everyone uncomfortable especially when the relationship goes South and fire house romances usually do. I have never had a problem with sharing any room in the station with the guys let alone the bunkroom. We have separate showers and bathrooms but they are open access to any gender not labled "male" or "female".
Ummm, what?

Tons O'Fun, get out of my corner!!
Well bro, you know my opinion about that. And you know i know wich females you are talking about. Just so everybody else knows, I think women in the fire service is great as long as they can do there job. Just like everybody else in the fire service, they like to help people out. Everybody is in this together. I believe woman are more compationate about teaching fire education to other people. So yes woman in the fire service is great.
You go girl, we have a female that work at the station, somtimes we work the same shift. You are absoulutely right, when the tones drop, its nothing but buisness. She also shares the same bathroom with us and I don't here her complaing. Be safe out there.
Well, we have a female on shift she shares the same shower, bathroom, and bunkroom. She has no problems with it.
