Our two cats figured out long ago that when a call comes in they'd better move. Whether they're playing lap cat or bed buddy, when the pager speaks and we start moving they just disappear.

How many of you have pets that are likewise "trained" to get out of the way when the tones drop?

My dog doesn't seem to even notice. But my wife is trained pretty well! ;)
My Pup Beevo ... Poor Fella ... When He hears the Tone drop on the Two way He gets so Excited He starts Shaking.. There have been times he has actually jumped on my chest and started Barking and licking and making sure My butt gets out of the rack tippity Tuff links..
Im trying to train him to bring Me My Gear bag but I think That a 20lb Pup vs 50lbs of Gear ... the Gear is gonna win every time..

my dog goes with me on calls so, when the tones go off, she beats me to my POV. The local ambulance has a small cat whose figured out that she had better run for cover or else get steped on. Its kinda funny how they (pets) catch on to things like this.
My cocker spaniel will start running from pager to me to the door when it goes off(course so do the kids). If I've left it in a place he can reach at nite he will bring it onto the bed and drop it on my head(dont miss many calls due to sleeping) then start barking. He will also do this with the cell phone, which is toughter because its hard to listen thru dog slobber, and every once in awhile he bites it at right spot to answer the phone--He has talked to my wife and mother-in-law on several occaisions. Never trained him to do this he just picked it up before he was a year old
My beagle learned to take himself off to his kennel when our fire phone rang. When we went to the pager system, it didn't take long for him to re-train himself to that, also.

Animals are anything but dumb!
our cat. when the tones go off she gets up and starts to meow if i hapen to not hear she will get in my face. that has only happened about 3 times in 12 years but it did happen
We have a rat terrier and a little mexican yapper mixed. She was a puppy she took several rides off the covers before she learned that the beeping sound she was hearing was the launch pad warming up lol. Now she hears it and she is no where to be found. She isnt as dumb as she looks lol.
My dog always has to run and find me! Walks me to the door.....and is a mental wreck until I come home!!!
