Let's see... I work Private EMS, variable hours/days. Then I'm on call 24/7 for my volly dept... But I am also a very FIRM believer in the fact that an EMT/FF should have a life outside of what we do. I do a lot of reading, I like to write (fiction & non-fiction), WWII reenacting as often as I can squeeze in a weekend, movies, spending time with friends, SLEEPING IN, taking photos, listening to music, paperdolls... Let me just say that when I got about 2/3 of the way through Medic school, I began making a list of things I wanted to do this summer, and I'm busy DOING them!! Enjoy every moment, whether you're doing Fire/EMS or just chilling... Life is precious.
I spend time outside, golfing, hunting, riding alot and playing airsoft and paintball. Depending on the mood I might even go out a build a deck or two with some of the other guys from the fd.
