Downtime Pastimes - What do you do on your time off?
I collect sports cards and memorabilia. I spend a LOT of time at 5/3 Field in Dayton during baseball seasons (go Dragons!)

I work! haha. I have a second job, the first few years (especially without a contract) are pretty lean up here! I also work out, play a couple of sports and just hang out with my friends. I'm going to start climbing tomorrow... can't wait! Can't sit still, can you tell? haha!

I work other jobs... When i'm not at the station i'm at AMR, or at the college trying to help teach the next generation how to not kill their patients or themselves... but when i get time off i like to catch up on sleep, take my dog out for hikes, go out with my buddies from the station, watch movies, ride my horse, or just chill on my couch with my laptop and a warm blanket.
Most of my friends are fire or ems, so we like to talk about that on our off time. I really never escape work, lol. Last week one of my friends from another dept was like "come on guys, can we NOT talk about fire for awhile? PLEASE?"
I told him he shouldn't hang out with firefighters off duty if he didn't want to hear about fire. Come to think about it... i don't think i have any friends that aren't fire or EMS.... So we really have nothing else to talkabout except who's turn it is to buy beer.

I work full time as a nurse....AND since I joined the Fireservice have been in a continuing series of classes.....its a never ending struggle.....And I love every minute of it.....Then of course there is the golf....that's another whole story...LOL Stay safe............Paul

What's time off? Sorry, I had to! I'm a volunteer so, my time away from my real job is spent doing fundraisers, being a firefighter, sleeping and occasionally getting to take a ride on my bike.
Oh, I do get to about half a dozen concerts a year, When ever there's an Alice Cooper Show in PA, NY or NJ, You better believe I'm there!

I'm a single mom of a 19 yr old and 10 yr old (no, the oldest doesn't need me much anymore). I work night shift as an RN in 2 ERs and am a volunteer ff. Please, there's not much down time. When there is, I enjoy sitting on the porch swing watching the world go by for a few minutes. I try keeping up with NASCAR and occasionally go out with a group of friend most of who are NOT involved with fire, ems or nursing.

Oh trust me i knowhow that goes, im with a fairly busy dept during the summer, so i get little time. thats what people dont usually understand about volenteers, we're ALWAYS working lol

i work on my 1929 American la France fire truck. I have restored it and tinker with it alot to keep it looking good. I also spend a lot of time with my wife and 2 dogs. Both kids are grown so now we have dogs to take care of.

On my off time, I'll escape reality by playing my PS2, watching a movie with my wife, or get into the kitchen and cook a little bit. However, I really like to travel the most. Just wish gas would go back to the same price as it was in my childhood... 79 cents a gallon....

Lets see. I have a part time FD job seperate from my full time FD job, I watch my son, I am a sports nut I watch football (NFL) baseball hockey racing and MMA. I also take some MMA classes. I am lucky enough to be close to DC so I go see the Redskins alot and the Nationals play and Richmond International Raceway is about 15 mins away from my house so I go to both races there every year we usually also take in both Races at Martinsville VA as well. We also have some local sports teams and I follow them pretty heavy.
I also play softball for the Union team.
Other than that I LOVE MOVIES!!!!!! I go to movies all the time either with friends or by myself. I am also an avade vidoe gamer I have PS1 PS2 PSP XBOX Sega Genesis Original NES and Gameboy Advanced and of course like most fireman throw back some CHILLY ONES
