dirty chiefs

How many chiefs still make entry ? We have a small dept. so i am still a fire fighter . I don't ask the others to do anything that i won't do . iI like to fight the beast are there any more out there .

Our Chief will enter the fire building during overhaul. He's normally doing incident command, so he's not really free to man the nozzle. That's why we have Firefighters and line officers. Our Chief will normanlly enter the fire building during the overhaul phase and begin working with our investigators. Now our old Chief, god love him. You'd have to hold him back and remind him that he was a Fire Chief, because he continually wanted to get into the sh*t! He retired from the Chicago F.D. before coming here to be Chief, so he's used to having fires every day!

Our chief doesnt go inside any more because he is typically in charge of the scene. He has gone in but it wasnt our scene. This is the biggest reason he dont go in. He knows that with him being inside that he cant command us from there. If for some reason he would have to go in on our scene he would transfer the command off to one of us other officers.

our chief will be right beside us on a fire or even or a wreck he lets one of the older guys to be in command

My brother has been chief for 10 years and he still does it all .. Other depts kinda get a kick out of him.. He does it all.. Have to with coming from a small dept....
