Starting to write SOGs HELP!!!

I am embarased to say that my dept is just now starting to look into to making SOGs. If anyone knows any place to find info or outlines or if you have a good set that would be helpful to us to us as starting point please let me know!!

We, also have been writing sogs. I would encourage you to look on volunteerfd.com, and also within your state for volunteer and career department websites. Some post the entire document there. I have been working on ours for over a year, and it can be exhausting. We didn't even have any bylaws that I could find, so that is where we started. We have had those in place now for a few months. That will make it easier to write and implemtent sogs. If you need more info let me know. What state are you in?

Thanks for the help we actually have bylaws they were enacted back in 1913 thats pretty much all we go by.

Does your department have a Charter with the state? If so, you need to get a copy and update the charter as well

We are chartered just no sogs. Of course all the talk is to make sogs not sops we dont have either.

You have a rather LONG and daunting job ahead of you. Start with all the things you can think of and get them typed up and intorduced before the body ASAP. In the event of a major injury or a LODDD, your department must provide the SOG/SOP's to the feds.
