Chalk this one up to "When in doubt call the Fire Department."

Exact words of dispatcher:
"Parrot mounted on hook inside of cage, homeowner requesting assistance to get it untangled."

I was very proud of the guys who responded, we were very professional and worked hard to release the parrot from the hook. It had somehow undid the nut on its perch and hooked the perch behind its beak and out through the front. (sorry don't know bird anatomy very well)

We all did very well until we got back to the station and called the dispatcher to let her know we were back on station. The dispatcher replied, "Was Polly saved?" We finally couldn't hold it in anymore and the whole crew broke up in laughter.

This will certainly go down as one of those "You think that was a strange call, wait 'til you hear this one."

That's awesome. Nothing like a good public service call. The owner of the parrot will tell everyone what you did for her and you have a great story to tell!! haha.. love it!! :)
Hahaha ya, that is right up there with the "kitten stuck in a brick" wall call we had! needless to say the kitten was saved! LOL Keep up the good work! Hey, at least you got out of the station for a while! ;)
You should post this on All things Funny!
