My F.D. had it's Centennial back in 1997. Since then I've been to several Centennial celebrations for surrounding F.D's. I was surprised to find out that some area F.D's are only 50 years old or so, some are even younger! Just curious how old everyone else's F.D's are. I'm sure there's some Departments on the east coast that are getting close to their Bi-centennial.
Hi Brain, My FD "Clarendon Fire Association", for which I am Chief, was formed in 1963. Few more years and we'll be hitting the big 50. But we're still an infant to the fire service in years.
* I traded a patch to a FF from Montgomery Township and that department was Est. 2002. As you can see you'll find many different dates.
* It'll be interesting what the youngest and oldest are. I'll keep an eye on this discussion.
Stay safe, train often and share knowledge. Norm
Ours was founded in 1845 however, this company became inactive due to the members volunteering for military service at the break of the war between the states. But During the occupation of New Bern, the New Bern Fire and Steam Engine Company, No. 1 was organized on January 1, 1865. So we go by the 1865 definetely a lot of history here we have our own Museum. So ya if my maths right 144 years
