Ok I thought fire trucks were red! I knew some were yellow/green but, now I've seen a blue one. Are there any other colors out there that I still don't know about? The pictures that I've gotten so far are amazing and there is alot of arguements going on about which color is better. Any one want to figure out which one is more popular? LOL

fire trucks are all different colors of the rainbow but you also have to remember all fire trucks dont have red lights some have just red, some with just blue, some with blue and red all green and i cant remember where i was but some have yellow lights which i thought was really weird and there so many kinds of fire trucks and sizes of fire trucks & different makesof fire trucks. Some hold different number of gallons of water some have different tools

Is anyone here doing the math to find out most common color, most popular color besides red, most unusual color. I mean; 7 pages. There is some data to be gleaned.

the yellow is displayed to the rear for the following reason. It has been proven that motorist are attracted to flashing red lights, where as the yellow flashing (or amber) actually cause more caution to be taken, and a motorist by habit will move away from amber lights. this was at a FASNY sponsered emergency responders class.
My old department runs trucks that are Black over Red. Traditional Fire trucks r red of course, but tradition is being changed by individualism. One of my neighboring counties runs Black trucks. Ive seen yellow, green, red, black, baby blue, white, white over red, black over red. Theres many colors out there nowadays.
we are a small volunteer fire dept in indiana and our trucks are orange
