Here in Chicagoland I've noticed some F.D's hang their hose in traditional hose towers, while still others use hose dryers. My F.D. uses a hose dryer. I was just curious what other F.D's both in the U.S. and overseas are using.

Hah - we use a hose dryer, I think it was made by Circul-aire. It was donated to our department some time in the 1970s. To the best of my knowledge, it has never been plugged in; we just load the hose in loose donut rolls and let them dry out. Saves a lot of energy that way!
Sounds like the one at my station, Joe!
Well being from the big city of Oxbow and having no money we have resorted to the old fashin way of tieing it on the local kids back and making them stand in the sun until dry... we hang it and replace.. it with dry on the truck...
Well, at least you have kids there... here we drape our forestry hose over the fence to dry it out in between grass/brush fires.
Drying rack for use Brian:)
You have a fence...? LOL
We used to have hose towers but they are in the history books and being used for peoples deer blinds. We do not wash hose anymore yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we use a 2006 Seagrave engine . it usually dries on the way to the next call.

use to have an old commercial hose dryer but i didn't see a real big benefit in it.
Out here in "Hooterville", we use the bay floor as a hose rack. when its 90 degrees in the bays, it doesn't take long for it to dry.
We lay ours out on the floor in the hall between the trucks. Most of the time we have enough hose we just grab the dry stuff off the storage rack to reload the truck and leave the wet stuff on the floor to dry. When its dry it gets rolled and place on the storage rack. The in floor heat realy helps the hose dry quick in the winter.
we also drape our hose to dry it. lemme tell ya though...come flyin in the station for a call at 2 a.m. and forget to hit the lights ...POW! ...you wont soon forget those lights FIRST again...LOL...youch
After each use we scrub the hose and let it dry on the bay floor.
