Lantern Night, A Family Friendly Halloween
at the Fire Museum of Maryland, Oct. 27th, 6 - 8 pm
Come see the Fire Museum of Maryland in a whole new light! Candle and kerosene lanterns are lit on many of the 42 antique fire engines on Lantern Night, Oct 27th, 6 to 8 pm, for this family friendly Halloween.
In the warm glow of lantern light, re-enactors in period costume will tell their unique stories. Civilians and fire fighters from the 1700s through 1800s, the Buffalo Soldiers of the 1870s, and civilians and soldiers from the War of 1812 will describe lives within their time periods.
The sound of keys clicking will be heard while visitors send messages by telegraph to others around the museum. Lantern Night is sponsored by Columbia Bank and the Baltimore Commission on Arts and Sciences.
Visitors in costume get in at half price. Free parking. The Fire Museum of Maryland is one block north of the Beltway, Exit 26B, behind Heaver Plaza, Lutherville. Children (2 – 18) $5, Adults $12, Seniors and Fire Fighters $10. For more information, call 410-321-7500, or go to www.firemuseummd.org.
