Speaker Bios
Bob Hoff is a 30+ year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, currently serving as the 1st Deputy Fire Commissioner. Hoff has many years of experience as both a company and chief officer. Hoff was responsible for the institution of Chicago Fire Department's rapid intervention policy, and conducted extensive firefighter rescue and RIT training for the department's more than 4300 personnel. He is co-author of Firefighter Rescue and Survival, published by Fire Engineering Books.
Rick Kolomay is a 30+ year veteran of the fire service, currently serving as the Chief of the Carol Stream (IL) Fire District. He was awarded 2002 Instructor of the Year by the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors. Kolomay has instructed for several community colleges, the Chicago Fire Academy, the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, and the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Kolomay is co-author of Firefighter Rescue and Survival, published by Fire Engineering Books.
John Norman is a 35+ year veteran of the fire service, with a wide range of experience. He has fought fires in rural, suburban, and urban settings. Norman served in some of the busiest companies in the FDNY including; Engine 290, Ladder 103, and Rescues 1 and 3. Norman has many years of experience as a company and chief officer, retiring as Assistant Deputy Chief in charge of Special Operations Command. He is the author of Fire Officer's Handbook of Tactics, Fire Officer's Handbook of Tactics DVD Series, and Fire Department Special Operations, all published by Fire Engineering Books.
