 's rapid intervention policy, and conducted extensive firefighter resc
 ue and RIT training for the department's more than 4300 personnel. He 
 is co-author of Firefighter Rescue and Survival, published by Fire Eng
 ineering Books.\n\nRick Kolomay is a 30+ year veteran of the fire serv
 ice, currently serving as the Chief of the Carol Stream (IL) Fire Dist
 rict. He was awarded 2002 Instructor of the Year by the Illinois Socie
 ty of Fire Service Instructors. Kolomay has instructed for several com
 munity colleges, the Chicago Fire Academy, the Illinois Fire Chiefs As
 sociation, and the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Kolomay is co-auth
 or of Firefighter Rescue and Survival, published by Fire Engineering B
 ooks.\n\nJohn Norman is a 35+ year veteran of the fire service, with a
  wide range of experience. He has fought fires in rural, suburban, and
  urban settings. Norman served in some of the busiest companies in the
  FDNY including; Engine 290, Ladder 103, and Rescues 1 and 3. Norman h
 as many years of experience as a company and chief officer, retiring a
 s Assistant Deputy Chief in charge of Special Operations Command. He i
