We know that health issues are the number 1 reason that our emergency responders don’t come home (Line of Duty Death). We also know that our lives on and off duty would be greatly enhanced if we improve our personal wellness. On January 12, 2008 I weighed 305 pounds and my health was degrading. By October 2008 I had lost 87 pounds and my wellness improvements have been amazing (people tell me I’m even nicer to be around). I’ve been on a nutritional wellness program (not a diet) and the life style change was surprisingly easy to accomplish. We think the answer is physical fitness training, however; we must address our health before we can become fit. Please folks, do not ignore the importance of internal wellness for yourself, your families, and your members. I’d be thrilled to share the details our wonderful success with anyone motivated enough to make a significant change in their lives.

Absolutely paramount to wellness. Thank you for sharing that. It doesn't make much sense to eat baked chicken, rice and beans on duty, and cheeseburgers and fries the other two days. I'd be interested in the details you have offered to share.
