Just woundering out there what kind of pagers do you guys use out there? My company currently uses the Minitor II for firefighters but the upper ranking officers use the Minitor IV. Right now i have a Minitor III in the shop and its the only III in the station. So what do you guys use and have any suggestions on any good working pagers?

Right now I'm carrying a Minitor IV. It's not great but it does the job. My dept. has range of minitors from III to the newer V models. After FDIC this year however, we found a new pager made by SwissPhone. Everyone really seems to like them, they are just a little pricey. We bought three for now and will start phasing out the old Minitors
We use the Minitor II out by me. They are set for either EMS or Fire only or both (all depends what you do in the department.
We also have the option of having the calls texted to use on our mobile phones
All of oregon uses the swissphone which ia alpanumaric and it is just as loud as minitor but instead of hearing people talk you can read it and it tells you what is going on and it gives you a lot of information
That squelch can be adjusted to auto reset, there are lots of differant programing ways including where squelch is set. Talk to your programmer and tell them what you realy want it to do. 5's are so programable it will do anything.
in the CFA we are using infostream, xstream pagers. but the company is not producing them any more so the cfa stopped issuing pagers.... there are many brigades out there with insufficient amount of pages
Our department has a mixture of 2's ,3's and 4's.@'s are just about gone and being replaced by a Swissphone pager. These are really nice except for one thing if you bend the right way or carry something the buttons are constantly being pushed and your getting a playback of the last 4 pages you've got or till your arms are empty and can shut it off.Minor nuisance but the pagers are good
I like the IV's because of the play-back recorder but they are too bulky & batteries are harder to find/order. I liked my III because it was smaller & if my batteries died I could use standard AAA's until I got new rechargables. Our county just went to a texting system that goes out, along with the page, to the cell phone's of department members when there is a call so I may be getting away from the IV's.
Most of us on our Dept have Minitor V's but I think some have a slightly thinner version not sure if it is the same or not. I wish we could have the text style but we all know funds tend to do the talken, and right now till we get our new station thats a little tight.
we have the minotor Vs but when we first bought them, the amplifier charger wasn't charging so we had to send back 100 chargers back to motorola and they gave us a standard charger no amp or nothing. but she still works good and i really like the repeater button being on the low band models
We're currently switching from using minitors to an alphanumeric paging system as part of the new county radio system. My favorite part of the new system is that it is all self contained and we don't rely on an outside paging company to operate the alphas. So nothing is really changing except the technology used to alert us.
We carry IIs, IIIs, IVs, and Vs. But the county is switching fire radio net to the same band as police and ambulance, and as a result, they are requring all departments carry Minitor Vs. I currently have a V, although not everyone has recieved one yet because we have not been able to afford to buy enough.
