FireRescue1 is covering an interesting article about two firefighters involved in a close call when a truck "exploded" whilst attempting to extinguish it. The entire incident was caught on a helmet cam for everyone to see....

With all the vehicle fires we make, I am almost disappointed if that "explosion" doesn't happen. It is so common now. I hope the point that people learn, is to have proper PPE on any vehicle fires.
Well let's see, there was that "dumpster fire" that exploded, now this vehicle fire that "exploded", since you never know just WHAT you'll be running into/putting out there's no real good argument NOT to wear full PPE.
I'm with you Oldman, The one thing that should never be overlooked is proper PPE. Car fires are very dangerous, not only in the way the fire acts, but the chemicals that is produced from the fire. Not wearing SCBA's, Bunker Gear, and gloves, can be very devistating short term or long term. I would hope to think that we are all at that point of understanding.
Shaun, unfortunately there's numerous examples in discussions on this very website where people still seem to debate SCBA for car fires. Check out the forums, check out the photos, check out the videos....
No debate. Wear proper PPE at all times PERIOD!. Thanks for sharing the vidio.
