Backdraft has always been my favorite movie. Come on, who can forget when that movie first came out, All the "wackers" coming to movie theatre with there pagers one, knowing that they are out of their district, dragged the love ones to see it and they didn't want to. And who can not forget the famous line of the movie, "You go, We go!"

Yes and all the flags that went on the trucks lol i think backdraft was better then ladder 49 was good to but you left one out TURK 182 was a grate movie

thats a hard one they are both great movies. but i'm gonna have to go with backdraft on this one. it just seemed more real to me plus it was preached to me when i was just starting in the fire service

They were both really good movies, neither was really to realistic. But, being origianlly from Baltimore, I grew up in the district that was filmed in Ladder 49 so I am little biased.

Well for the sole purpose of good one lines you have to go with backdraft. And you all know what I'm talking about. Roll the hose now!, whose your brother Brian!, you're doing it wrong! But I did like ladder 49 because of the flash back from the beginning it showed you how we progress and grow in both the service nad witrh each other. I think it showed how we are not just alot of one liners.

I'm about 50/50 with each one and can't really make up my mind. They're both great in their own respects, to me it would be like comparing apples to oranges. I know this didn't help with the scorekeeping, but it's my input anyway. Stay safe.

Mel Gibson was a cop in real life until he got in a fight and his face was beaten off. He also got beat up by a cop who gave him a ticket when he hit the cop. You are absolutely right, he should have been a Fireman!!
