Patrick, no doubt he still has work for me to do. I enjoy what I do and where I am blessed to do it. Live each moment to its fullest and share what you have with others.
Yes, I ride a Harley. (pics of it on my page) I used to ride a Kawasaki ZZR 1200 (sport Bike) pretty much killed me in 03. I died and was revived after laying it down and slamming into a guardrail. Woke up 11 hours latter in intensive care in the hospital. Spent 12 days in the hospital and 1 1/2 years doing physical therapy and being off work. After I finally recovered I went out and bought a Honda VTX 1800. When I got married two years ago my wife talked me into buying the Harley. Our Department has myself and Asst Chief are full time paid. The rest (45) are volunteers. When I started out it was exciting and fun. Still is Bro.
Patrick, Yes, I ride with Wind & Fire Motorcycle Club. State of Jefferson Chapter. It is an International motorcycle club made up of firefighters who ride Harleys. I have been here in Brookings Oregon all my career Bro. I started out here as a volunteer firefighter and in 92 was promoted to Chief. In 94 the City made the position full time paid. It has been a great opportunity as I grew up here in Brookings as well. Yes your right bout the memorial being moving. I was very moved by the respect and admonition shown us on the ride from Denver to Colorado Springs. The actual memorial tore me up. I hope to return back there maybe this next year again.
Patrick, 29 years and still enjoying it. Hey! I was there in Colorado Springs 2 summers ago. Came there for the Firefighter memorial. We rode our motorcycles there from Oregon.
Patrick, Welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.
