About Me:
I am a student of the fire service and always will be, I realize that when you "stop" learning in this profession is when you may not go home. I am a Captain of a full time department and a Senior Firefighter at another full time department. I hesitate to say career department because at one time being "just a volunteer" was my career. I am a luck husband to a beautiful woman who says she is a proud firefighters wife.
Day Job:
Captain/ Senior Firefighter
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Since I was 2 years old (theres photographic evidence) I have wanted to be the guy I saw driving or riding shotgun on a rig, or the guys coming out of a residential fire on my block. I want to be good at what I do and I strive for that goal. Of course I want to help my family and friends and community in their time of need and beyond.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is who I am
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Budget cuts, leadership failures and let downs, lack of training, lazziness, obesity, the dollar (cheap buildings going up with sometime uninforced codes or just minimums being met)
