Firefighter II, Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor III, Fire Inspector III, Hazmat IC, NREMT-B, Incident Safety Officer, Fire Suppression, Health & Safety Officer, Aircraft Rescue Firefighter. IS-100-800
About Me:
I started my firefighting career as a volunteer in Collingdale, PA back in 1979 where thru the years I held the positions of Engineer & Captain, known as the “B” Chief. I moved around a little to other fire departments as I moved around the county, Parkside Fire Co.#1 and Upland Fire Co. #1.
In July 1988 I took my first paid firefighter position, it was with the Federal Government at the now closed (BRAC’ed) Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, and in 1992 I worked my way up and was promoted to the rank of Captain. That’s when I was forced to take a position as a Captain at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in DC. Since getting there I have made some great friends and long lasting partnerships. In 2002 I was promoted to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief and in July 2008 I was detailed to be the interim Fire Chief and in Nov I was temporally promoted to the position.
Someday I hope to get back into a volunteer fire dept. again right now I don’t have enough time for my self let alone a fire dept. May be when I retire…. just a couple years out…Stay safe out there…I am a member of , International Association of firefighters and the International association of Fire Chiefs
