Prior to the Hills, I worked for El Dorado County Fire which was a combination of several small department that joined together. I have worked in the Public as well as the private sector (Ambulance Companies) Rual as well as Urban.
My Training:
Certified Fire Officer, State of California Paramedic (with a very low number) Graduate of Daniel Freeman School of Paramedics back in the time of "Johnny and Roy" 1981. Worked my way from Volunteer Firefighter to the my current rank with a stack of certs spanning 30 years. I'm finnishing my AS in Fire and looking forward to my BS.
About Me:
Married and father of six grown children, well kinda, two left at home a senior and a freshman. The first four range from 30-24 and then we had to stop and eat so six years later came the last two. My youngest so heads to bootcamp in Aug 09 and my yougest daughter is a basket ball star (like her mother). I'm a grandfather of two wild boys 2- and 2 1/2. My wife is an arobics instructor and also provides instruction for on of the Royal cruse lines. This where I get to vacation and watch her work! We live on three acres with a ranch style house and it lies just below an arm of Shasta Lake in Northern California. Only three hours drive to work!
Day Job:
Captain/Paramedic
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Back when I had kids, I thought it would be nice to know what to do if they got hurt. So I became an EMT and then joined a small Volunteer Department to give back to the area. The rest is history!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The life style is as crazy as I am.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Paid or Volunteer, we all provide the same service, why do we spend so much time trying to convence each othe who's better?
