What can I say, the pictures don't do it justice. This memorial will be built on the grounds of the state capital in Little Rock, AR. It is funded strictly through donations, it's been many years of hard work from numerous volunteers.
Not a good day yesterday, the state of AR lost another firefighter. He was killed on his motorcycle enroute to the station. I was on a team that met with the family and fire dept yesterday, it was heartbreaking. Hearts naturally go out to the family, mine went out to the chief too. Here was a young man (barely looks old enought to shave) keeping himself and his department together. When I looked in his eyes I could sense the tremendous load this man was carrying. He was the deputy on call the night of the accident. I don't even want to imagine what he was felling. The funeral is tomorrow. As much as I hate funerals, I will go, he was a brother.
