At least three of the firefighters were injured and two of them were taken away from the scene by ambulance. A police spokesperson said none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

The truck is stationed at Station One, one of Raleigh's busiest stations, and was placed into service in 2004. It's a tiller truck, which has two drivers, one in the front and one in the back. Because of the dual operation, the drivers must be in constant communication. It also means that the drivers have to do the opposite of one another while driving.
The tiller carries 300 gallons of water and has a 100-foot ladder.

It is not known if any other vehicles were invovled.
