We've watched the coming and going of trash companies, with new bids providing better service and more perks for the consumer. Competitive bidding includes minimizing manpower and automating as much as possible. Just takes one person to operate the garbage truck verses two or more... The only two investments are trash cans designed to be grabbed from the side and dumped outside down and retrofitting the garbage trucks. I have never read about a trash mag getting drug down the street or on the back in situations where there was a rollover. The same unfortunately is not true for firefighters.
Most of the time the initialinvestment in automation means NEW garbage trucks, it would be virtually impossible to retrofit and rear packer garbage truck to an overhead robot dumper.
