I have been trying to find documented cases of neck injuries of children from trying on fire helmets during PR details.  I see many times where members of my department and other departments allow kids to put on their fire helmets.  From a liability standpoint this practice concerns me, but I have not been able to prove this practice can cause injuries.  Any help would be appreciated.

Dont't forget the Level A training suits! We did this one year at an Open House and the Youth Services people asked us to do it again the next year it was such a hit with the kids.

On another note, back in the 80's I remember one of the guys putting his helmet on the kid's heads during a classroom visit and he wound up with head lice. A week or so after the school visit we got a notice from the school reporting a problem with head lice!
