What kind of pager do you have?
If you have one, what kind do you have?
I have a Minitor V and it works great!
Also wondering, how many other companies trust Jrs/explorers with pagers?

We have Miniter V's and we hate them.In their defense however it is mostly due to our counties comm. system that causes the problems most of the time.I liked the old Miniter II's.Worked much better than the V's for us.Technology doesn't always get better.Our old Plectron boxes worked great back in the stone age though.

I have a Minitor IV, and love it. Our department has a mix of Minitor IV, V, Septar, and some Icom F50V which works as a pager/radio.(it even has vibrate and voice record) Our Probies/Explorers are issued the same pagers as everone else.

My company got the stored voice option. It is one of the reasons that I asked for my Minitor IV back.
After the tone all I got was static till dispatch said something, at times that takes a little longer than
I think it should, if it didn't have the static I may have kept it. But then there is the problem of running with more than company. I was listening to the recording of the dispatch for one company on my way home one time from a call and was listening to the recording of the dispatch of that call when one of the other companies I run with got dispatched. I was luckly, I was in my car and hear the dispatch on my scanner. Our captain likes the option, he listens to it to get the times when he is filling out the report.

We have all have Monitor Vs. I'm on my three one in two and half years. Don't like at all. Give me my old Monitor IV or my III back.

Do you know what the dept. did, they took my Minitor away from me, when I retired... Aint that a bitch? had it for 20 some odd years, it sat on top of the fridge, I don't think it even worked, we've been Digital for the last six years, but still they took it. Now when I started, they issued me a Plectron, base unit, it was huge, it did have a handle and a two hour battery, in case you needed to travel with it, weighed in, somewhere near 25lbs. Antenna that kept the window from closing tight, wired to the drain spout outside, now that always worked, not too mention, it turned on a lamp, when it sounded, that one I really miss. I remember the Minitor's, had a Playback button on them, we had the most fun with the rookies, just sitting down to dinner, hit the button and watch them run for the trucks... lol

We have Motorola Keynote, Minitor III, IV, and V pagers and US Alert NOVA 2's. The most reliable are the Keynote and NOVA's. Every Minitor model has had problems. The major difference with these pagers is that the Keynote and NOVA's are a set frequency crystal and the Minitors are all synthesized programmable frequency.
Some of the Keynotes that we have had stored voice replay which was the most unreliable part of them, other that they are bulletproof. The NOVA's are new for us about 1 year now and have had no problems, the ones we have we got with the monitor function, we opted not to get the stored voice.
Out of the Minitor pagers the most unreliable of the three models is the Minitor V. The batteries and chargers are a big weak point. The other issue with them is the lose their frequency programming.

I have a Minitor V and a Page one alpha/numeric pager. Neither work for me. The minotor is more of a paperweight, and the alph likes to put out lost of messages in some alien life form language other than english. I am told that we will be switching to swiss phone. I live in a pocket where cell phones, pagers, aircards, etc just dont work very well.

We have the minitor V's and no complaints. We even bought the programming equipment so we can program them ourselves.

Minitor IV.... Its a great pager, it is loud, wakes everyone up at night. Altough I would like the playback feature.

I have a Minotaur III most of the guys carry Minotaur V with playback. They all seem to work just fine.

i have a piece of crap minitor 4 that only works on alert yes they trust us with the ones that dont work right
