How to handle a patient that tells two storys one to me and one to the EMS crew. We have a new frequent flyer that tells me one story when I am there. When the EMS crew arrives and I start to relay info she contradicts most of the info she just gave me. It makes me feel and look like an a**. Why she does it I don't know, But she has had a problem with the fire dept in the past over illegal burning that IDEM was called. This was years before my time on the dept.

Now I am trying to think of what to do.

1. I am a volunteer just don't go on that call when paged? This goes against everything I believe most of the time I am the only Fire Dept EMS on scene.

2.Just take relay vitals let EMS transport company get the rest on there own? Pretty sure they know whats going on by the looks on there faces.

Should I note it in the narrative when I do the report to help cover my rear. Got a feeling she might be sue crazy.

She has also told us in the past when she wants to go to the ER for something its faster to call 911 because you get seen as fast as you arrive.

John just remember ABC's don't mean..."Ambulance Be comin' "
Paul I remember in my First Responder class Are instructor getting mad because know one would touch the person playing the patient. He said "what the hell do you guys do form a circle around the patient and say yep he's f---ed up". We said pretty much and then poke at them with something. That didn't go well, this instrutor had no sense of humor.

Are captain always says why do we mess with blood pressure what are we going to do about it. He is just joking of course but there is not much we can do with it just see how the patient is trending.
I think sometimes I am a crap magnet in a feces rich environment.
WELL - it is good to know your place in society ;-)

So cute I love it.
Hint Hint...

If MY Blood Pressure is too low - I am GOING TO PASS OUT ON YOU !

So be prepared to catch me...

That is what you can do to help me...

OR

prevent me from passing out and lay me down BEFORE I PASS OUT and put my feet above my heart...

SIMPLE EASY - keeps me conscious ;-)
Thats what I ment by trending if they are going to get worse. Passing out is worse. Most of the time they are laying down. :o)
