After a trip to Mexico and talking to the Firefighters over there, or "Bomberos" as they call themselves, I became curious as to know...

How many of you have ever been faced with a language barrier, and how did it affect the incident?

What do you do if you're faced with someone who speaks little to no English in an emergency, who do you call?

Does your department carry those quick reference sheets made specially for EMS and Fire?

know? I am happy that you visit my country, but I'll ask you something ... I would like to share something more than the concern of the language barrier with us, something like traditions or roots of the fire department in general? the word "BOMBERO" means: Man who used bombs, in this case relates to water pumps, as in the French "POMPIER" and German "FEUERWER.
Thanks for that, I have visited your City and Saltio about 10 years ago. Beautiful country. my brother is a Bomberios in Austin, Texas. Be safe, train hard.
