Well i was at the station today when a new guy who just joined the department came up to me and one of my buddies showing us these golf balls he was saying that if he gets lost in a fire like in a church or a big warehouse he could toss the golf balls to see which wall was closer now i know it might sound like a good idea but i just never herd of this before now the new guy might be teaching me new tricks but just seems odd to carry around 12 golf balls in your turnout gear lol please tell me what you think

I would save the golf balls for the next tourneyment the Department has....We carry enough gear (some carry too much)...How will he know which way is out once he decides which wall is closest...?...The only balls he should worry about is.....well, I guess we all know that answer.......LOL
wat happens if ur not only lost but your stuck an u cant use ur arms to throw them golf balls.....think about that one?
I thought it might be like a Hansel and Gretel moment- I mean if you throw down the golf balls, all the career guys with nothing else to do in all their spare time on shift would come running thinking there was a round to play and would ultimately find you while at it.... ;-)
If you're lost or whatever in a church or warehouse, and feel the need to throw things, I'm sure you'll find plenty of things to chuck that are in your vicinity.
Or, if you're having that much trouble, maybe suck up your pride and call for a mayday then hit your pass alarm.
I carry 4 nerf golf balls & 2, Rescue 51 hotwheels cars. On occasion I'll strap 2 basketballs to either side of my scba tank.
I bet you don't have face paint or a yo-yo in your bunkers though do you?
LOL thanks for all your posts the guy im talking about has been with the fire department for 1 month and just came up to me trying to teach me something lol i thought it was kinda funny so i wanted to share it with you guys once agian thanks for all your posts :)
in that case you kiss your "other" balls goodbye.......
Chris...does this mean we can't play here anymore....? 8(
Paul, if I could kiss my "other" balls, I wouldn't be doing this for a job!!!!! :-)
we have DSU on our BA...and if ur motionless for 30 seconds it goes off an it has a fluro light on it to let the BAS.team know where u are.....and here in australia we have personal lines as well...plus a ferret that has substancial amount of line in it..when doing a sweep of a building.....it is in a bag that goes over a BA cylinder
LOL No it dont mean that keep going lol i think its so funny keep it up guys :P LOL i was just saying thanks :P
