Who here thinks that slamming other departments is ok? Cause the way i remember we all do this job to help people paid or volunteer!!! If one or more departments are having problems dont slam them for it try an help them out...we all need help in one way or another. Its not about who does what as long as the job gets done an everybody comes home in one piece an nobody dies in the process.cause you never know it might be your department one day who needs the help!!!!!
Some of them are ridiculous. I have been on committees that wrote our state safety standard, compromise between all parties makes some ridiculous rules, not always the best rules. The NFPA is the same. IFSTA is a little to basic, beginners level, but a good base to build on.
To be honest im not used to anything like this... sure there is friendly competition between the engine and truck companies... but never slamming another dept. We all are in this together, we all are doing this for the same reason. because its fun, and because it takes a special kind of person to do what we do. To slam another department brings a bad name and rep to the Fire department.
again....NOT in public...as in NEVER, EVER...you have a beef...you address that with the person or Department behind closed doors.........If you wet the bed you don't want someone to hang your pissy stained sheets out for everyone to see....same goes for "issues" (sorry to be this blunt...some people just don't understand English)
I agree with you 100%....We criticize one another on a constant basis here and hopefully it is taken as intended...as an expression of opinion....but in slamming someone....ie ....talkin' bout yo momma..Just isn't right....again blunt but to the point.....LOL
A lot of the criticisms on here too are safety oriented rather than my tactics are better than yours . That means issues raised are meant to hopefully prevent a death and improve safety . Those issues can't be overlooked, at least not by me.
