I want to become a fire fighter but want the best training I can get.

What can I do to decipher between schools that offer an OK program and an excellent program? Mainly when it comes to what school will offer the best knowledge and experience. Maybe there are certain keywords I should look for in courses? Or certain course names that are important to look for?  Are Their certain courses that are a lot more neccessary than others? Are there courses that repeat information and then makes them rhetoric? a good idea? Any one have any ideas or wisdom they would like tp pass down to a young rookie school  F.F school looker.
