By starting this as a new thread, I'm not pointing the finger at any individual. Let's see this as a way to teach people.
My writing isn't perfect. I make general typos, I make spelling mistakes. Although I always read again before posting, these things happen. For now, forget about spelling mistakes (or have a dictionary next to the keyboard as I have), let's look at the misuse of words.
Many times I've seen the word 'due' used where 'do' is the correct word, this being obvious by the context in which it is used. I suppose this could happen because there are places where the pronunciation for both words is the same?
do - can be used like "that truck needs a wash, I will do it"
due - can be used as "the house caught fire due to an accident"
Can anyone think of other words that could do with clarification? Or have I just wasted a couple of minutes?

Bad grammar from the cat ... use of plural verb with singular subject. Breach of subject/verb agreement.

Come here for the subject or leave it alone. Once in a while I substitute teach in a local high school. I put this list of THINGS I LOVE TO HATE on the board every chance I get, because these bad examples have become so accepted and so widely used by everyone from first graders to HS seniors to so called "educators" to professional writers to milionaire national news anchors and, if we just think about them, they make no sense,. 1) We dont try AND do it. We try TO do it. 2) Waiters and Waitresses wait ON people. When we are anticipating the arrival of a something, we are waiting FOR it. 3) In regards to proper usage, there is no S on the end of regard, as it is used here. 4) Things are different FROM each other, not THAN each other. 5) Many ARE on my crew. None IS staying here. 6) "Where is it"? is a complete sentance. "Where is it AT"? ends with a superfluous preposition. 7) "May I go with YOU"? makes perfect sense. "Can I go WITH"? leaves me pondering with what one might be going. I'm no certified teacher but I cringe when I hear this language I'm passionate about butchered by so many so often. I dont expect to change the world but I just cant do nothing. Thanks for the opportunity. PS to West Philly. Those were intentional were'nt they? Keep The Faith.

No Tony, you haven't wasted any time here... it's just that this subject has been discussed before and we're getting the same results now as before.
Perhaps someone reading this discussion will jump on the spell-check bandwagon and improve on their written word. If one person does it, hey - you did good. Or would that be you done good?

You know what gets me is the abbreviations that, I personally don't understand. I guess that I'm older, and I just don't get the texting language. You have a full keyboard to use, please use full words. Instead of UR, please write you are. Most things are a gimmie, but some you just can't understand.

I know i have bad english, but i´m not english speaking person by native language..
Sometimes I have to use online translators to check grammaring. Anyways, i try to write simple but still understandable way.
