i dont think you should be sorry for statin the rules of your dept. every state, county, and dept is dept. i think thats what the prob is ...we don't realize there are different guidelines depending on where you are. i am jr and in my dept we are allowed to ride on the second truck out depending on what it is. on the scene we may retrieve tools if needed we stay near the truck and do what someone tells us we do not go near the 'hot zone'.
