I’m looking to start an Honor/Color Guard on my department but have no idea where to begin… if anyone can help me out with some pointers I’d appreciate it

An honor/color guard requires seriously dedicated people who are willing to learn and commit to military style discipline.
Decorum and performance precision is a must.
Outside a color guard or honor function is different but during a honor function or color guard function it is strictly business behavior.
Uniforms must be clean, well fitted, and properly worn ( Including rank insignia, badges, and decorations )
Public image is paramount here.
And there can be no wavering on this requirement .
The other thing needed is the training and practice time, chosing members as close to the same height and stride length since formal parade procession can be seriously affected by a shorter stride length.
Plainly put it must be very well oiled machine.

I was a navy color guard an eon ago and I've never forgotten the honor of being one.
