Wildfire Consumes Texas County
BASTROP, TEXAS (KXAN) - The Bastrop Fire Department and the Texas Forest Service are reporting that a wildfire has spread over 650 acres in areas of Bastrop and Smithville. Nearly 40% of the fire has been contained as of 9:30 p.m.Saturday evening The fire was caused by a fallen power line in a pasture north of Highway 71 at approximately 12:30 pm Saturday
